While we hope you never need to see us for an emergency. But it happens! We provide emergency services, whether it be a colic, choke, laceration, swollen eye, sudden onset lameness, or any other equine emergency your horse may experience. We ask that you let us know right away so we can see you as soon as possible. We will do our best to get to your horse to provide veterinary care. We do have to prioritize our emergencies to those who have established a VCPR and to whom we have committed our care to their horses’ health and well-being. Non-client emergencies are seen as soon as we can fit them into our schedule.

Coastal Bend Equine requires an active Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship to provide emergency veterinary care. To maintain an active Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship, Coastal Bend Equine must have seen the client’s horse within the last 12 months for routine/wellness care, and they must reside within the geographical practice area. If Coastal Bend Equine has not provided care to your horse(s) within the last 12 months, the Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship will be lapsed, and emergency veterinary care may not be provided. Please call the office if you have any questions regarding this policy.
